Noxgild

Zed

Connect Zed to Noxgild, verify protected tool access, and run a real task.

Give agents in Zed the same authorized computer, browser, and desktop application surfaces without rebuilding the environment.

Setup tutorial

1. Download Zed

  • Open Zed's official download page.
  • Install the current Zed release.
  • Open a real project or worktree and trust it.

Download Zed

2. Open MCP Servers

  • Open Settings in Zed.
  • Go to AI → MCP Servers.
  • Click Add Server, then choose Add Remote Server.

3. Add Noxgild

  • Name the server noxgild.
  • Paste the Noxgild remote MCP URL.
  • Do not add a manual Authorization header; leaving it out lets Zed use the standard MCP OAuth flow.

4. Authorize Noxgild

  • Zed starts the Noxgild sign-in flow when authentication is required.
  • Sign in to Noxgild and approve the connection.
  • Return to Zed when authorization finishes.

5. Check server status

  • Go back to Settings → AI → MCP Servers.
  • Confirm the indicator next to noxgild is green/active.

6. Verify the connection

  • Open the Zed Agent Panel and paste the verification prompt below.
Use the connected Noxgild MCP server only. Call noxgild_devices and list my available computers and their current status.

7. Confirm success

  • Setup is complete when Zed returns your authorized Noxgild computer and its status.
  • You can now use the Noxgild tools from Zed Agent.

Before you start

  • The current Zed release with a trusted project open and context servers enabled.

Verification prompt

Send this to your AI client after setup:

Use the connected Noxgild MCP server only. Call noxgild_devices and list my available computers and their current status.

After authorization, send the verification prompt. You are connected when your authorized computer and its status appear.

Good first tasks

  • Use my test computer to launch the app and verify this feature.
  • Run the local service and check the result in my signed-in browser.
  • Use the native desktop application to reproduce the issue.

Troubleshooting

  • If the Noxgild context server does not appear, confirm the project is trusted and the remote server URL is correct.
  • Restart Zed after changing context-server configuration if the tool list does not refresh.

Connect a computer once

If you do not already have an authorized Windows, macOS, or Linux computer in Noxgild, run this in a terminal on that Windows, macOS, or Linux computer:

npx @noxgild/cli@latest connect

After approval, the same computer can be reused from other supported AI clients.
