Claude Cowork pricing in October 2026 is tied to Anthropic's paid Claude plans rather than a standalone unlimited computer-control license. Cowork is included in eligible plans, but availability, usage limits, access to connected files and actual computer-use behavior differ by account and execution environment. A buyer should distinguish plan access from the hardware and tools needed to finish a specific workflow.
The published individual prices
Anthropic's public USD pricing on October 25, 2026 listed Pro at $20 per month when billed monthly, or about $17 per month when billed annually at $200 up front. Max 5x was advertised at $100 per month and Max 20x at $200 per month. The vendor describes Cowork as included in Pro and Max, with usage limits that may be consumed more quickly by complex tasks than by ordinary chat.

These prices are time-sensitive and shown in the vendor's current public offer; tax, location, promotions and organizational contracts may vary. We did not purchase the plans for this article, and no number here should be treated as a quote for remote computer access.
Comparing Cowork plan prices only becomes useful after defining what a typical task consumes. A brief text summary and an hour-long multi-app job draw on different resources, even if both begin with a single prompt. Our Claude Cowork review explains what the product actually handles; the pricing decision should then focus on access to the required features, usage limits and how often the workflow will run.
Team and Enterprise considerations
Team and Enterprise availability depends on the organization's configuration. Anthropic's guidance states that Cowork is available to paid Team and Enterprise accounts, but web, mobile and integrated experiences may require owner enablement or a rollout setting. A procurement team should confirm seat type, usage policy, admin controls and data retention rather than multiplying an individual plan price by employees and assuming the same capabilities.

What "computer use included" does not establish
A Cowork-capable plan can run supported tasks without granting the assistant direct access to every computer in an organization. The location of the task, selected folder, connected app and browser session matters. Anthropic changed the execution model for new Pro and Max Cowork tasks on October 6, 2026: according to its guidance, new tasks run in the cloud, with the desktop app bridging access to selected local folders when it is open. That is not the same as a promise of arbitrary native Windows app control.
A plan that includes more Cowork usage does not automatically provide access to a designated external Windows computer. If that is the missing task, Noxgild's supported Claude connection may make authorized device operations available, subject to the client's actual connector compatibility. The team should price remote computer access only when a real part of its process happens on that machine. Paying for a second tool solely to create ordinary documents would be hard to justify.
Estimate real cost by workflow

List the monthly tasks you expect to hand off, such as document analysis, spreadsheet preparation and web research. Test how a representative complex task affects the account's usage limit and whether a human must still complete native-app steps. Add team administration, approvals, support and integration maintenance where relevant.
Test five representative tasks, including one interrupted by missing credentials or an unavailable device. Record time spent, completed artifacts, usage restrictions and operator intervention. Do not equate subscription price with the cost of a correct business result. The security requirements also belong in a total-cost estimate because approvals, access reviews and audit needs consume operational time regardless of the chosen plan.
The MCP introduction helps explain how some assistants connect to external tool servers, but using MCP does not automatically expand a Claude subscription's entitlements or grant OS permissions.
Compare the alternatives by the missing capability
Choose based on a verified task and current plan terms. The cheapest available Cowork tier may be sufficient for occasional cloud work but unsuitable for a workflow that needs local software it cannot reach.
